I am currently downloading a game to do a series long run through. My internet speed tops out at 16 MB/southward. Co-ordinate to my internet speed test, it should exist 100+ MB/s, but I never become anywhere that speed (why is that btw? I never understood). I can download an 80 gig game on steam in less than an hour.

My PS3 downloads everything, if it's feeling up to information technology, at a whooping one MB/southward if it's not feeling cranky. Sometimes it does. Currently, it'south 6.six of one game are going to accept over 2 hours. Some other 9something gig game is going to have over iii hours.

If this was happening on my computer, both games would take 10 minutes tops.

PS4 is an comeback but all the same non bang-up. 40+gigs take two hours or so.

Want to know the funny function tho? The reason I'm downloading them is because I deleted them earlier, trying to articulate space for a different game I wanted to download. It said it was 34 gigs. That would take taken x hours. But the even funnier office is that that'southward a lie. The actual gig size is 75 gigs. 20+ hours. Howlongtobeat has it's playthrough time at viii and a half hours. Funniest office? My PS3 harddrive has a total of 72 gigs of free space if I format my harddrive.

How was this shit programmed?

Reminds me I need to slap a new HDD into my PS3.
It'due south and so slow to practise Annihilation and I hate it lol. I might as well run errands around boondocks if i'm deleting or installing a game that'south large.

I recently upgraded the HDD and downloaded everything I got from PS+ through the years. I guess download speeds are actually capped at 1MB/south lol.

If they were subpar back then; then it also seem intuitive that ane'due south perception of it volition get even worse with fourth dimension.

I am currently downloading a game to do a series long run through. My net speed tops out at sixteen MB/s. According to my internet speed examination, it should be 100+ MB/s, but I never get anywhere that speed (why is that btw? I never understood). I can download an fourscore gig game on steam in less than an hr.

Are you sure it isn't saying information technology's 100 Mb (megabits) and not 100 MB (megabytes)? 100 Megabits would exist about 12 Megabytes, which sounds roughly like what you're getting.

This is a network affair not a ps3 affair.

My cyberspace speed is supposedly ninety-100 mb/s according to speed test, only I have only ever been able to download MAX 13mb/s on all my platforms

This is a network thing not a ps3 matter.

My net speed is supposedly 90-100 mb/southward according to speed test, merely I take but e'er been able to download MAX 13mb/s on all my platforms

Are you sure you lot're not disruptive megabits with megabytes? A 100Mbit connection is equivalent to 12.v MB/due south (considering 1 byte = viii bits). So you might be seeing 100Mb on one place and comparing it to 12MB (notice the B vs. b) on another without realizing that they're the aforementioned speed expressed in different units.

Unless y'all actually have a gigabit internet programme, in which case yep y'all're falling manner behind the speed you pay for.

You probably don't want to hear it but this isn't primarily a device issue (unless y'all used WiFi which is known to be bad on PS3) but rather a example of where you're located, your ISP and other factors (and so called "peering")

PS3 downloads for me take always been faster than PS4 for example (not even the "pause trick" worked for me on PS4 most of the time)

I should probably add I've sold my PS4 later on this experience and it's one of the principal reasons I'm completely washed with consoles (I'll go along my PS3 and 360 however for the older games I occasionally play)

You lot could download the bundle files with your PC past using PSX download helper. This program allows you to brand a proxy server that the PS3 will road to your PC.
